Assisting in maintenance of the community orchard on the SE corner of the Levenshulme quadrants.

The orchard was planted in 2012 by the Friends of the Fallowfield Loop and has matured well.  However, it does need a bit of maintenance through the year, mainly keeping weed growth round the trunks of the trees down and removing other shrubs and trees which have grown wild and cause shading with the orchard trees.  In addition, the trees need pruning twice a year.  Currently maintenance is being done on an ad hoc basis, but I would like to set up a regular work party once a month.  If you are interested please contact me - I'm happy to explain what we are trying to do on site or discuss further by phone.
