Have some spare time between 1pm and 3pm on Fridays?
Have a good understanding of windows, smart devices, microsoft and office packages?
Want to support your local older neighbour?
If the answer is yes, our group is just for you!
We are looking for 2 new volunteers to help with our bespoke computer classes for over 55's!
What type of things do you teach?
We run a bespoke class for 1 on 1 support and training - We teach anything from how to access emails to writing documents on word, how to watch youtube videos to setting up facebook accounts! (And everything in between)
Every individual learns at their own pace
No matter the age, 1 on 1 support is the best kind of learning, because of this we have found ourselves inundated with support requests as we transition into the age of technology.
Everything from GP Surgeries, Hospital appointments and even accessing important information about health is transmit through a digital medium these days - Our older neighbours are being left behind!
What's in it for us?
Well, we would hope that giving back to your local neighbours would be enough!
BUT we also offer free teas and coffees during your stay, fill you up with countless amounts of biscuits and can pay for your transport IF you need to travel to volunteer with us.
What do you look for when searching for Volunteers?
We need someone that is fluent in digital devices and its applications - everything from social medias, accessing online NHS apps (NHS App & MyMFT) and connecting individuals to emails (Outlook, Gmail, Yahoo etc), even having a good knowledge of microsoft packages would be great too! (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
The main thing we look for is good communication skills and patience!
